We all know how important it is to keep your skin protected from harmful UVA/UVB rays that cause aging and skin cancer. It’s also equally important to make sure you’re choosing the right sunscreen that doesn’t contain harmful chemicals or ingredients. If you haven’t heard yet, be sure to toss your sunscreen if it’s among these being recalled for major health concerns.
Instead of relying on chemical creams alone, opt for one of these natural oils which not only protect your skin from sun damage, but are ultra nourishing and hydrating to improve your skin’s overall health. For your face, try adding a few drops to your regular daily moisturizer to cut down on the oiliness.
Carrot Seed Oil- SPF 40

Wheatgerm Oil- SPF 20

Avocado Oil- SPF 15
This oil is rich in healthy fats that help provide a protective barrier over the skin. Avocado oil is also high in Vitamins A and E which are linked to healthier skin. There are many additional benefits of avocado oil for your skin and body!
Coconut Oil- SPF 8
Coconut oil is great for moisturizing the skin and reducing inflammation. It’s high in antioxidants and also has a great smell! Few people know that you can also use coconut oil to treat chapped lips. Add a few drops to your facial moisturizer for a lighter sunscreen, or apply as an all over body moisturizer! It’s important to note that the SPF may vary by product based on quality, oxidation rate and light exposure. If you plan to spend long periods of time in the sun, be sure to use a safe and recommended sunscreen along with your preferred oil.
